Sonoma County Fishermen Being Offered Lifeline with Dock Fee Waivers

A lifeline is being thrown to local fishermen. The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors is allowing commercial fishers affected by closed and shortened fishing seasons to apply for dock fee waivers at Bodega Bay marinas through the end of the year. The County has set aside up to $100-thousand in fee waivers, which could allow fishermen to save $300 per month. This is in response to the shortened Dungeness crab season as well as the back-to-back closed salmon seasons. Over 94-thousand dollars in berthing fee waivers were issued last year between August and December.
