A woman who police call a “prolific” identity theft suspect is behind bars in Santa Rosa. Forty-year-old Melissa Gutierrez was arrested on Wednesday morning, following an investigation that started last month. She is accused of conspiracy, forgery, possessing a forged check, possessing blank checks to defraud, vehicle theft and identity theft. Police say Gutierrez stole the identities of more than ten people. A second suspect, 50-year-old Marc Boyce, was arrested on Wednesday as well. He is also accused of conspiracy, forgery and identity theft.
