A motorcycle rider is dead after crashing near Sonoma Raceway. On Sunday night after NASCAR weekend had ended, a motorcycle travelling north on Highway 121 shot across the lanes and crashed near Gate 7 of the raceway. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Northbound and southbound lanes had to be closed as CHP investigated the scene. There is no word yet on why the motorcycle crashed.
