Cal Fire Suspending Burn Permits for Sonoma County Starting Monday, June 17th

Burn permits will soon be suspended for several North Bay counties. Cal Fire has announced that burn permits for Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Colusa, and Yolo counties will be suspended on Monday, June 17th. Cal Fire can still issue restricted temporary burn permits if it is essential to public health or safety. This does not apply to campfires, although there are separate permits required for that, which can be acquired online or at a local fire station. With the suspension looming, Cal Fire urges residents to get their properties ready for fire, such as clearing dead vegetation within 100 feet of buildings, using nonflammable ground cover for landscaping, and chipping landscape debris.
