Former Teacher at St. Vincent de Paul Prep School Sues for Unpaid Wages

A former St. Vincent de Paul College Prep high school teacher has filed a lawsuit for unpaid wages. Kenneth Blake claims that he and three other outgoing teachers are owed their final month’s wages by the Catholic Diocese of Santa Rosa and by parish leadership, which oversaw the Petaluma high school until May 30th. He claims the diocese is withholding about 10-percent of his pay and is seeking nearly $7,300-dollars. This suit comes as the school has transitioned leadership from the Diocese and the parish to an independent board as of June 1st. Blake and his colleagues may not get paid because the Diocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March last year, which freezes lawsuits against them.
