House Democrats are calling off their plans to send a letter opposing an early virtual roll call nomination of President Biden to the Democratic National Committee. Rep. Jared Huffman of California’s Second District says the letter is being scrapped after party officials said early Wednesday that the virtual roll call would not be held before August. Huffman says that having an early and quick nomination before the convention would seem like, “a power play of the highest order.” The virtual roll call served as a way to secure Biden on the Ohio ballot because of deadlines, but Ohio has extended their nomination deadline to appear on the ballot to August 23rd.
