Voters in Sebastopol will decide on whether to approve a half-cent sales tax this November. During Tuesday’s meeting, the Sebastopol City Council voted to put the measure on the ballot. The tax would raise about one-point-five-million-dollars per year, according to estimates. It would also include a 12-year sunset clause, meaning it would expire in 2037. The ballot measure is a general tax rather than a special tax. That means it needs a simple majority vote to pass rather than the support of two-thirds of voters.
