A second Marin County jury is hearing arguments in the retrial of a Mendocino County man accused of starting the 257-acre Hopkins Fire that destroyed 30 homes in 2021. Devin Lamar Johnson faces 10 years to life in prison, if convicted. His first trial ended in a mistrial in May after a previous jury could not reach a verdict. Mendocino County District Attorney David Eyster has taken over the case from Deputy District Attorney Heidi Larson. Proceedings are scheduled Tuesday when the defense will begin its case.
