California’s COVID crisis is far from over. Cases are surging to levels last seen in the summer of 2022 due to a collection of very contagious strains. The rate of positive tests is almost 14-percent, compared to a peak of 16-percent two years ago. These are mostly coming from doctor’s offices and clinics, but could be much higher since many test at home. State officials urge anyone with cough and cold symptoms to check if it’s COVID.
