A Sonoma man has been arrested for robbing a rideshare driver using a BB gun. This past Saturday night, a rideshare driver dropped off a customer near Riverside Drive and Kelsey Court in El Verano. The customer, later identified as 21-year-old Christian Mendez Torres, went into a house and came back out with a handgun and robbed the driver, taking his wallet and other personal items. The driver ran away and called the police who arrived within a minute. Torres then ran away but was caught and arrested quickly. After determining the firearm was a BB gun, Torres was charged with robbery, credit card theft, ID theft, and brandishing a replica gun.
