A Lake County code enforcement officer was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of multiple felony charges after $19,000 in cash and 35 pounds of marijuana were found at his home. 36-year-old Antonio Chavez Anguiano works Lake County Community Development Department. The department had reported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office one of their employees was possibly engaging in illegal activity, and Anguiano was arrested after an investigation and search. He was booked into the Lake County jail in Lakeport on suspicion of three felony charges of extortion, soliciting and/or accepting a bribe and grand theft. He is also suspected of misdemeanor possession of marijuana for sale.
