Santa Rosa Church Volunteer Takes Plea in Sexual Abuse Case

A Santa Rosa church volunteer has been convicted of in a sex abuse case involving a boy, agreeing to a plea deal with prosecutors and is expected to be sentenced in October in Sonoma County Superior Court in Santa Rosa. 59-year-old Drue Mordecai pleaded no contest to multiple counts of abuse. He was arrested in January 2021 and originally charged with 28 counts linked to child sex abuse between June 2017 and June 2020. Mordecai led a volunteer youth group at Santa Rosa’s New Vintage Church.
