Ed Sheffield (Santa Rosa City Schools)
After eight years on the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education, Trustee Ed Sheffield announced he won’t seek a third term. Sarah Jenkins, a Sonoma County employee and parent, has filed for the open seat in area five, covering Bennett Valley. Jenkins, who works in the county’s Behavioral Health Division, aims to improve communication, enhance safety, and strengthen connections between schools. Jenkins says she supports the return of School Resource Officers to campuses. She is the first candidate for one of the four seats up for reelection. Sheffield hopes his successor will prioritize equity, as he did during his tenure.
