Charges were filed Friday against a Yountville man suspected driving off after hitting an 81-year-old Napa woman with his vehicle earlier this week. 43-year-old Dominic Carvalho faces one count each of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, hit-and-run causing death or injury, and driving under the influence of drugs causing injury. Prosecutors charged Carvalho in connection to the August 4th death of Jackie Rhodes. He tested as under the influence of methamphetamine and fentanyl when he struck Rhodes as she walked east along Highway 29 near Charles Krug Winery.
