Electric bikes are coming to SMART train stations this fall. The new bike-sharing program called “Redwood Bikeshare,” will offer 300 e-bikes and 75 parking hubs across seven cities, including at SSU and the SRJC. Riders can use a smartphone app to rent and pay for the bikes. This new option, in agreement with Drop Mobility, should roll out in the next few months. The local program has been delayed for some time, after a previous e-bike provider abruptly went out of business.
