Petaluma is stepping up its preparedness for emergencies! This past weekend, the city’s Fire Department partnered with Petaluma People Services Center to hold a drill for a Temporary Evacuation Point, or TEP. Nearly three dozen volunteers participated in the exercise, simulating how they would set up and run a shelter during an emergency. Officials say they’ll be working with police, parks, and public works to refine their plans and conduct a more comprehensive drill next spring. They’re also looking to expand their volunteer base, including reaching out to programs like Cool Blocks.
