Sonoma County Looks to Spread Word About New Eviction Protections

Now that the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors have approved a new ordinance to protect tenants in multi-family housing, it’s time to spread the word.
“We’ll be conducting a series of town halls, webinars, radio, and online advertisements to really get the word out to ensure that renters understand their rights,” said Matt Brown, County Communications Specialist.
The ordinance includes provisions limiting evictions during states of emergency, increasing relocation benefits for evicted tenants, and restricting evictions for nonpayment of a single month’s rent. It was approved on Tuesday and takes effect in January.
