High Speed Motorcycle Chase Through Sonoma and Mendocino Counties Ends in Two Arrests

A motorcycle rider and passenger were arrested after a high speed chase ended at the Santa Rosa Plaza. On Saturday near Healdsburg, a Suzuki street bike fled from CHP at a high rate of speed going northbound on Highway 101. The bike lost officers several times as it reached Ukiah, turned around, and then headed back to Sonoma County. The long chase, which reached speeds of over 140 MPH, ended when the rider and passenger abandoned the bike in a Santa Rosa Plaza Garage. However, the Sonoma Sheriff’s helicopter Henry-1 was following them for most of the pursuit and helped police on the ground in detaining the two subjects.
