Petaluma Man Pleas ‘No Contest’ to Manslaughter Over Father’s Death

A 21-year-old Petaluma man has accepted a plea deal for the 2022 killing of his dad. On Friday, Christopher Hopkins pleaded no contest to manslaughter for killing James Woodworth Hopkins Jr. in their Petaluma home. Hopkins’ attorney claimed that he “In an altered state, stabbed his father.” Hopkins’ mother told the Press Democrat that Christopher had been abused by his father for years and that resulted in the killing. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 20th.
