Supporters of Measure J are making their voices heard as the November election draws closer. On Saturday, more than 100 people gathered in Penry Park in Petaluma, then marched two-and-a-half miles across the city in support of the ballot measure. They held signs reading things like “honk if you love animals” and “protect our environment.” Measure J would ban Sonoma County’s large livestock and poultry farms known as “concentrated animal feeding operations.” It would create the first county ordinance in the nation doing so.
