Three wineries are suing Napa County claiming local ordinances and policies “have violated numerous Constitutional rights of County wineries.” Hoopes Vineyard, Summit Lake Vineyards & Winery, and Cook’s Flat Associates filed their 60-page complaint on Thursday citing issues around commercial speech, due process, voluntary compliance, and economic protectionism. A statement from the plaintiffs reads “Only by going to the federal courts can we protect our constitutional rights to ensure fairness in being regulated by Napa County.”
