Santa Rosa is considering a citywide ban on artificial turf. Last week, the city’s Climate Action Subcommittee recommended that staff move forward with a proposal to outlaw future use of turf on residential properties and city parks. Any action, though, may be months away. A reason for a ban would be health concerns as synthetic grass blades and turf base can be tied to known pollutants.
