Will Sebastopol settle on a special financial district? The Press Democrat reports that the city’s officials are considering formation of a special taxing district that would channel levies on new development to fund road and building repairs along with sewer and water infrastructure upgrades. The funding would occur without creating new taxes on existing commercial and residential developments or additional fees on new development. It would also allow Sebastopol to partner with the county. The city council may vote on a financial district in November.
