Suspect in Several Small Vegetation Fires in Santa Rosa Charged with Several Arson Counts

A 61-year-old man accused of intentionally starting four small vegetation fires in Sonoma County in a five-day span is officially facing four counts of arson. Santa Rosa resident James Conforti was charged on Monday and is due in court today. Conforti was arrested on Friday night, after allegedly starting a quarter-acre fire near Meadow View Elementary School earlier in the day. He is also accused of lighting three fires near Southwest Community Park earlier last week. They burned less than an acre of land, combined. The school and the park are adjacent to one another.
