Alfredo Pedroza (Napa County)
The U.S. Department of Justice confirms a wiretap is part of its investigation reportedly focusing on Napa County Supervisor Alfredo Pedroza. The DOJ says it has sent letters to people in Napa County, alerting them that their names were captured in wiretaps related to a federal investigation. It’s unclear how many people were sent the letters. But, according to the Press Democrat, those who were include county employees, faith leaders, private business owners and more. The DOJ says its investigation is related to wire fraud and a “scheme or artifice to defraud.” Pedroza is not mentioned by name in the letters. But, one of two phone numbers cited in the investigation is the same cellphone number listed on the supervisor’s government contact page.
