Old Adobe School in Sonoma Closing on October 4th

After more than 30 years in the community, a preschool in Sonoma is getting ready to close its doors for good. Old Adobe School is scheduled to permanently close next Friday, October 4th. The school has been dealing with financial issues since at least the beginning of this year. In mid-January, the school announced it would be forced to close unless it paid 40-thousand-dollars in back rent and staff salaries. At about that same time, the Sonoma Police Department was told an employee had embezzled 40-thousand-dollars from Old Adobe School. In March, that employee was charged with grand theft and falsifying work hours. She pleaded not guilty to the charges in April.
