Geothermal plants are getting a boost from the state. A new bill was just signed into law that allows county planning departments like Permit Sonoma to conduct environmental reviews of exploratory drilling projects related to geothermal expansion. This will allow geothermal developers more opportunities as it makes the approval process more convenient.
