There is a discrepancy about how many people were homeless in Rohnert Park on a particular day this past January. Sonoma County’s official point-in-time count has the total at 279, up from 210 last year. But, the city’s official count, conducted on the same day, puts the total number of homeless people at 174, 36 fewer than last year. That includes people with and without access to some form of shelter. Tomorrow, Rohnert Park Housing Manager Jenna Garcia will make a presentation to the Rohnert Park City Council about the homelessness numbers. The reason for the discrepancy in the totals is not yet clear.
