Supply and Demand are not matching up well for the North Coast wine grape market.
The North Bay Business Journal reports that there is a “massive market correction” because of an oversupply of grapes and other fruit throughout California causing further difficulties to already lower demand. They cite several grape growers and their difficulties selling their grapes not under contract combined with labor costs. Some landowners are even considering vineyard removals.
