A man who killed his father at their home in Petaluma has been sentenced to seven years in prison. Twenty-one-year-old Christopher Hopkins was sentenced on Thursday. In August, he pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the August 2022 killing. A criminal complaint says Hopkins used a spear to kill his father. Christopher Hopkins’ mother has said the killing came after years of abuse at the hands of his father.
