Report: Sonoma County Housing Market Isn’t Very Flexible for Residents

A new report says Sonoma County’s housing market is not flexible enough to meet residents’ evolving needs. The Generation Housing report, which will be released today, lists several trends that have worsened since the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. They include seniors being locked into homes that are larger than they need, young families moving away by the thousands and younger people waiting longer to form larger households. The report, put together by a local housing advocacy group, also says Sonoma County’s housing market is essentially frozen in place due to a lack of supply.
