Power Safety Shutoffs Begin Across PG&E’s Coverage Area Due to Fire Weather Conditions

The lights are out for more than nine-thousand people in the Bay Area, including a thousand in Sonoma County.  PG&E warned customers of power shutoffs this week due to an extreme fire danger from high winds and low humidity.  This affects areas where dry conditions could lead to equipment failing and possibly sparking wildfires.  At last check, Napa County has the most outages, followed by Solano and Sonoma counties.  Four others are also waiting for service to return, that includes Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Alameda and San Mateo counties.
