Cases of whooping cough have been reported in two Sonoma County high schools. Two students at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa and one at Analy High School in Sebastopol have contracted the disease. Both school districts sent out notices to parents and guardians as well as how to look for symptoms. Whooping cough can start out like the common cold but can worsen quickly to coughing attacks that can lead to vomiting, problems breathing, extreme tiredness and other symptoms.
