A southern barbecue restaurant incoming to downtown Santa Rosa. The Press Democrat reports that Downtown Barbecue will open in early November at the spot of recently closed Townes restaurant, formerly Third Street Aleworks. New signage for the restaurant started to appear last week and now a large barbecue smoker and stacks of cut wood. The owner, Damian Brugger, has opened successful barbecue restaurants in New Orleans and Kansas City. Brugger was also a pitmaster for the now-shuttered Stone Brewing restaurant in Napa.
