Rohnert Park is moving closer to creating its long sought after downtown. It has formally entered negotiations for its 400-million-dollar downtown project. On Tuesday, the Rohnert Park City Council approved an exclusive negotiation agreement with El Segundo-based developer CenterCal Properties. In August, the city council picked the developer to transform a 28-acre piece of land owned by the city into a future downtown. Plans include building a mix of homes, stores, restaurants, park space and a hotel.
