The wine grape harvest ends on a low note for Sonoma and Napa Counties. The Press Democrat reports that several growers lost a significant amount of grapes thanks to the heatwave this month. Late-ripening reds were hit the hardest along with some growers reportedly losing up to 40-percent of their crop. Still, growers are optimistic over the quality of this year’s harvest, especially for white grapes and earlier ripening reds.
