Items confiscated from Jason Hellman (Sonoma Sheriff)
A man from Vallejo is accused of leading Petaluma police on a chase that involved a collision with an officer. Jason Hellman is behind bars at San Mateo County Jail, where he was already being held after an arrest on an unrelated matter. The chase happened on September 7th, with the collision happening on Highway 101 near Cotati. Hellman is accused of driving recklessly, reaching speeds of more than 100-miles-per-hour and driving on the wrong side of the freeway. Authorities say he intentionally rammed the stolen vehicle into a Petaluma police officer’s squad car, causing a minor injury to the officer, then abandoned the vehicle.
