Attempted prescribed burn at Trione-Annadel State Park 10-28-24 (Cal Fire)
Today will see two prescribed burns happening in Sonoma County. A crew with the Sonoma Valley Fire District will be burning about 18 acres of private land in the George Ranch area. Firefighters are trying to create a fire-buffer zone between Grove Street and the community of George Ranch. The burn is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Smoke will likely be visible all day, especially in Sonoma. The first prescribed burn of the week was supposed to be conducted yesterday, on about 70 acres of land within Trione-Annadel State Park. However, rain and humidity postponed that to today.
