Farmer’s Lane Extension Project Still Faces Funding Problems

The Farmer’s Lane extension project is on the back burner. The Press Democrat reports that the city of Santa Rosa’s project that would extend Farmers Lane from Bennett Valley Road south about two miles is on hold as they focus on other infrastructure projects. Funding remains an issue as the project was expected to cost $10.5-million in 1997 and is now up to around $47.5 million. The Farmer’s Lane Extension is no longer on the radar of the Bay Area’s Metropolitan Transportation Commission but the city insists it’s still on the general plan 2050.
