Red Flag warning for most of the Bay Area, including Sonoma County, will start tomorrow morning. From 11 AM Tuesday until 7 AM Thursday, the National Weather Service is forecasting increased winds and low humidity. Wind speeds will peak Tuesday night and are expected to be between 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 in the higher elevations. Winds will be calmer for Wednesday but relative humidity will remain low.
PG&E is warning customers in 17 counties of potential public safety power shutoffs on election night. The power could be cut due to gusty winds and high wildfire danger. PG-and-E says up to 15-thousand customers across Northern California could be impacted. Among the counties that could be affected starting at seven o’clock tomorrow night are Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino. Only one polling location, Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center in Lake County, could have its power cut. But, that’s not expected to happen until at least 9:30 Tuesday night, when in-person voting is over. No tabulation centers are within the potential power shutoff areas.
