Outside of the City of Santa Rosa were some very significant council races.
In the town of Windsor, Sam Salmon is leading the race for district 2’s council seat over John Leyba, 57 to 42-percent of the vote. This now seals Salmon in for an historic 8th term on the Town Council. Meanwhile, JB Leep looks like he will replace outgoing Council Member Debora Fudge in district 3 having 38-percent of the vote, the most of four candidates in the race. Windsor’s Mayor Rosa Reynoza has been re-elected running unopposed.
Three incumbents are set to be re-elected in Cotati. In an at-large election, Susan Harvey, Laura Sparks, and Ben Ford are on track to be re-elected leaving challenger and former council member George Barich on the outside. Three incumbents are also set to be re-elected in Healdsburg with Ron Edwards, Ariel Kelley, and Mayor David Hagele poised to retain their seats. This comes despite the failing of the council backed Measure O which would’ve opened three city corridors for further growth.
In Petaluma, Frank Quint, Brian Barnacle, and Alexander DeCarli are leading their respective races for city council. Notably, Barnacle is beating incumbent Mike Healy for district 6th by ten points with 42-percent of the vote. Lance Kuehne is third in that race with nearly 26-percent of the vote.
