Cotati is on track to repeal a ban on roundabouts. Measure S is passing comfortably with nearly 61-percent being yes votes. It repeals the previous ban on the construction of roundabouts and traffic circles within city limits. It was supported by Mayor Laura Sparks, Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition Director Eris Weaver and Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District Chief Jeff Veliquette.

Cloverdale voters are favoring two measures. Measure DD is passing with 57-percent of the vote when a simple majority is needed to pass. It is a three-quarters of a cent sales tax and is now Cloverdale only approved sales tax. Meanwhile, Measure CC is also passing which would allow Cloverdale to extend its city limits into the western hills territory, effectively doubling the size of the city. That measure is passing with nearly 71-percent approval.

Windsor’s Measure Q is on track to fail by a large margin. As of late Tuesday night, 77 percent of voters are not in favor of Measure Q. If the results hold, the city will keep the competitive bidding process for its trash hauling contract in place. The ten-year contract limit, first enacted by voters in 1996, would also stay in place. Windsor’s current garbage hauler, Sonoma County Resource Recovery, put the measure on the ballot. Its contract with the city will end in 2027.

And Seven of the ten school bond issues on the Sonoma County ballot appear on track to pass. As of early this morning, two of the three failing measures are barely failing. They are just shy of the required 55 percent “yes” vote needed to pass. Measure K for the Piner-Olivet Union Elementary School District has 54 percent yes votes. It would authorize 29-and-a-half-million-dollars in bonds to the district for modernization, repair and upgrade projects. Measure X for the Wright School District also has 54 percent yes votes. It would authorize 29-point-two-million-dollars in bonds for similar modernization and renovation projects.
