Santa Rosa is taking steps to streamline its real estate holdings by selling or redeveloping two city-owned properties.
The first property, the old Westamerica Bank building downtown, is set for redevelopment to stimulate economic growth. The second, a vacant lot on Franz Kafka Avenue, is being considered for housing development.
The city aims to optimize the use of its properties, focusing on housing and economic development. The Westamerica Bank building, while historically significant, is no longer suitable for city operations due to maintenance costs. The Franz Kafka Avenue lot, originally intended for a fire station, has been deemed unsuitable for that purpose.
