Sebastopol residents may soon have a new trash hauler. The City Council is considering switching from Recology to Sonoma County Resource Recovery (SCRR).
SCRR, which currently serves Windsor, proposed higher rates than Recology, but city staff recommended SCRR due to its “cost-effective services.” Recology disputes this, claiming their proposal is actually cheaper.
The council will consider two rate increase options on Tuesday, with the first option resulting in a larger initial increase followed by smaller adjustments, and the second option having a smaller initial increase but larger increases in subsequent years. Both options include new services like holiday tree pickup and bulky item removal.
The council meeting will be held Tuesday at 6 PM at the Sebastopol Community Center.
