Construction on Sonoma County’s long-awaited new courthouse is nearing completion.
Originally slated for 2024, the project is now expected to be finished by May 2025. Delays were attributed to the pandemic, soil conditions, and material supply issues. The six-story building will feature modern amenities, improved security, and better accessibility for both staff and the public.
The project is funded by court fees and penalties, with Sonoma County contributing to the construction of an inmate transport tunnel.
