Santa Rosa City Schools to Host 5 Town Hall Meetings Concerning School Closures This Month

The Santa Rosa City Schools district is facing a significant budget deficit and is considering closing up to four schools to address the shortfall.

A district committee is reviewing options, including closing one high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools. Five town hall meetings will be held this month to gather public input on the potential school closures. These meetings will take place at each of the district’s high schools.

The district aims to save $11 million annually through these closures. The school board will make the final decision on school closures in February.
