On Monday, a 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times in Santa Rosa after a gang-related altercation.
Two other 16-year-olds have been arrested and face attempted murder charges. Police say the shooting occurred after a confrontation between the victim and the suspects, who believed he was associated with a rival gang. The incident sparked a lockdown at Hilliard Comstock Middle School as a precaution.
The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Gang Crimes Team has been actively working to address this issue, seizing numerous illegal firearms and connecting at-risk youth with resources.
