Petaluma police have arrested a man who allegedly brandished a knife at officers and later threatened someone with a knife.
38-year-old Jesus Arenas-Guevara was initially encountered by police on December 30th after a disturbance call. He allegedly displayed a knife to officers before returning inside his residence.
A warrant was issued for his arrest due to the knife incident, obstruction of police, and a probation violation. On New Year’s Eve, Arenas-Guevara was suspected of another knife threat, prompting a search that included the assistance of a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.
Arenas-Guevara was ultimately arrested on January 6th and is currently being held without bail at the Sonoma County Jail.
