Sonoma County is hosting in-person town hall meetings to inform residents about their tenant protection rights.
The meetings will be held on January 29th in Santa Rosa and January 30th in Monte Rio and will cover new county rules that strengthen tenant protections, including requiring landlords to report evictions to the county. These rules expand upon state law by protecting tenants from most evictions within the first year of tenancy and limiting evictions for nonpayment of rent.
Representatives from Legal Aid of Sonoma County and the County Counsel’s office will be available to answer questions. The meetings will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and will include Spanish interpretation.
