Charges Filed Against Contractor Accused of Leaving Several Construction Jobs Unfinished

A contractor accused of leaving construction jobs unfinished across Sonoma County is now facing criminal charges.

The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office has charged Cory Lacey with seven misdemeanor violations for allegedly contracting without a license and accepting down payments that exceed state law. He is also facing three felony counts for allegedly diverting construction funds in 2022 and 2023. Prosecutors say Lacey also failed to pay suppliers and employees during the past few years.

Several clients and suppliers have also sued Lacey for breach of contract.
